The Products

Vitamed produces over 100 different veterinary products, in several dosage forms, of which 2/3 are for large farm animals and 1/3 is for the poultry sector. The company is a leading force in the veterinary pharmaceuticals market, its strength in this market stems mainly from the broad range of products giving the veterinary surgeon a comprehensive armament of drugs.

In addition Vitamed is the major supplier of penicillin antibiotics to the Israeli market, manufactured in the modern penicillin facility in Binyamina.
 
 

Marketing Large Animal Products

In this market Vitamed is the main supplier in Israel. Most of Vitamed's products are purchased by the "Haklait". This non profit organization has been established in 1919, employs 70 veterinary surgeons and is the dominant body providing clinical veterinary services to Israel's cattle breeders. From its very beginning Vitamed has worked closely with the Haklait, thus gaining access to the changing market environment. Vitamed has a long term purchasing agreement with the Haklait, Vitamed's products are supplied to the Haklait's central store and distributed to the dairy and sheep farms directly by the veterinary surgeons.
 
 

Marketing of Poultry Products

In order to strengthen and expand the marketing of the veterinary products for the poultry sector, Vitamed has joined forces with two other production companies and set up a marketing company for poultry products, "Shavit" in mid 1996. From its structure and diverse portfolio of products covering pharmaceuticals, vaccines, disinfectants and feed additives, it is positive that Shavit is a leading force in the poultry market and will succeed in expanding Vitamed's sales.
 
 

New Veterinary Products

Vitamed's goal is to provide the veterinarians with a wider selection of products including modern specialties for cattle and poultry, to further this goal Vitamed has signed agreements with several foreign companies in Europe for the distribution of their products in Israel on the one hand, and continue to develop its own new products on the other. Vitamed's plans to submit 15 new products for registration in 1997.

Vitamed is constantly looking to expand its operations through the importation and distribution of Ethical and Generic Veterinary Formulations in Israel, and through the export of Vitamed's Products.
